Analyzing the sealing method between the clearance between precision piston rod and cylinder

As is well known, precision piston rod is a connecting component used in cylinder motion execution components to support piston work. It only has a piston rod at one end, which generates air pressure by supplying gas and accumulating energy from one side of the piston. The air pressure pushes the piston to generate thrust and extends out, relying on springs or self weight to return.
In general, the sealing between the precision piston rod and the cylinder gap is mainly achieved by using packing seals. Packing seal is a type of dynamic seal mainly used for the moving parts of process machines and equipment in the mechanical industry, such as the plunger or piston rod of compressors, as well as the seal between the valve stem and the fixed body of linear and spiral motion valves.
The packing seal mainly relies on the gas pressure difference before and after sealing to obtain a self tightening seal. The gap in the packing ring generally includes the following gaps: notch gap: mainly used to compensate for the wear of the packing ring. Axial clearance: mainly used to ensure that the packing ring can float freely, otherwise the precision piston rod cannot work normally. Radial clearance: To avoid compression of the packing ring due to its sinking, in order to avoid deformation or damage.
From the above content, it can be seen that the gap between this product and the cylinder can be sealed with packing. However, when using packing seals, different packing seal structures should be selected based on the actual situation such as the pressure difference of the gas before and after sealing, the nature of the gas, and the requirements for sealing.
